About Dr Liz Crowe

Liz Conference JS1

I am a clinician, a coach, a strategist, a disrupter and an academic. For several decades I worked in critical care in a tertiary children’s hospital, providing counselling and support to families who had children diagnosed with life threatening and life limiting conditions, palliative and end-of-life care and bereavement. This work provided me with a wonderful perspective on life, a curiosity to learn and make the world a better place, and a passion to improve teams and leadership across all industries.

I have completed a PhD on the risk and protective factors for staff working in critical care where I found that wellbeing at work is correlated to three important factors:

  1. Belonging
  2. Meaning and Purpose
  3. Mastery of Skills/Professional Development.

Since then, I have researched and published on several areas related to workplace wellbeing, teams, science and the consequences of conflict and poor behaviour.

I am a certified Mediator and Organisational Coach.

I am a professional speaker and podcaster.

I love working with teams and leaders across several sectors including health, education, veterinary science, mining, local councils, retail, government and non-government organisations. I have a talent for using the latest research and combining it with practical and tangible solutions for organisations. Organisations need less talk and more solutions. I have a particular interest in neuroscience and neuroleadership and teaching people why our brains instinctively respond in ways that are not always productive.

I also provide an acute emergency response to organisations who have suffered a tragedy or traumatic event and need assistance navigating communication and a compassionate response to their staff. I am the author of the The Little Book of Loss and Grief You Can Read While You Cry.

I am known for my humour, energy and results.

  1. Hi Liz,
Let me be the first to congratulate you on the book. It has been a pleasure working with you and I wish you all the success with the support you are offering to suffering people.

  2. Liz I heard you speak at the ABA conference and I didn’t want you to stop. Your knowledge, openness, honesty and yours axing sense of humour makes you so easy to listen to and relate to the information you are sharing. I learnt so much, but also had so many of my own observations confirmed, because you are discussing life decisions and emotions, things that don!t really get covered in courses or text books.
    Thank you

    1. I agree with Pam. I also heard you speak at ABA’s Liquid Gold conference and thought you were the best speaker there, and I could have listened to you all day. Thank you for all you are doing, and everyone you are helping in such huge life events.

      1. Dear Sharon

Thanks so very much for your comments. I am humbled by the amazing work of the ABA community and very grateful for all they have done for me and my family. I am so pleased I have been able to pay this generosity forward.
        Take care
        Liz

  3. I have just watched your talk on the “Infant Feeding and Allergy” Webinar .
I was enthralled by your amazing stories, information and suggestions.
I’ve taken away so much about connecting with mothers (and fathers!)
Thank you for your great sense of humour too.
